Every Monday The Carat Soup shines a spotlight on hidden gems: extraordinary women in our industry. This week my focus is on  Katherine Bodoh, the Chief Executive Officer of the American Gem Society
(AGS).

Bodoh’s background is in communications. With experience in events, PR and marketing. As mentioned above, she is now at the helm of the AGS (and AGS Labs).

In her own words, [Katheine is] passionate about the mission of the American Gem Society (AGS); I deliver strategic leadership, industry relations, staff development, and member-focused initiatives. Driving day to day strategic planning and management, I consistently focus on all the moving pieces while keeping an eye on the Board’s larger designs for the Association. Well-regarded as a ‘go-getter,’ I have exceptional follow through as I carry out the Society’s strategic plans and future vision.

Founded in 1934, AGS is at the forefront of the gem world – for B2B and B2C – in North America, including Canada. From gemstone services (appraisals, grading and connecting clients to jewellers) to educational programmes. Find out more about the work they do here.
