As it was revealed a few days ago, a few years ago, and soon after completion, Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa isn’t quite what we thought it was (at first glance). Debates are usually centred around the facial expression – one of joy or one of grievance; the sitter – who she was in relation to the artist, if in fact she was a she or perhaps cloaked in women’s clothing as a disguise. The advancement of technology has impacted our perspective on a host of art movements, and in some cases repeatedly the same work of art. It shall be interesting to see what shall be revealed about contemporary art in decades to come, and any/all conspiracy or practical theories that unfold…
